Sunday.

Had coffee with Jean. Talked about the differences in the generations, how blind obedience might be mistaken for courage. Lots of leftover thoughts from my WWI podcast.

Lena played with magnatiles, Jimmy with hot wheels. Both really got into their projects, made me happy.  Jean went to the dispensary about 9, I did the dishes and listened to my audiobook.

Afterwards I dropped off a wagon for Pat K, his old one that he leant us years ago. It felt good to talk to a buddy. We ended up going on for a half hour about baseball, the new Clone Wars episodes, and the strangeness of the crisis in general-- all while six feet apart on his front curb.

Got the next le Carré book at the B&N curbside pickup, asked up and gloved. Got some snacks at an empty gas station. I waited for a customer to leave, masked up and gloved as well. It had a glass window separating customer and cashier which was comforting, so I imagine I'll be returning there at some point. I like to have chocolate on hand for Jean when she gets the itch and chips for me for late night movies.

Played kick ball with the kids when I got home, trying to lure Lena off the tv. Lena got a ball to the face, cried a bit while Jimmy got the wind knocked out of him running while looking backwards-- his first time I'm pretty sure. He couldn't breathe for a few seconds, but I was there to help him through it at least.

We had a video chat with my sisters' kids and Nana & Poppy, made PB&J for the kids in the meantime. The kids were a little too wild, mostly only looking at their reflection (well my kids were too wild anyway). It was nice to hear from everyone but the chat was a little too chaotic.

Rode bikes with Jimmy for over an hour, finding "treasure" in the middle school field behind the house: a pine cone, a pen with a rubber band through it, a pencil, two bottle caps, a rock, a ball bearing of some kind, three bracelet beads marked "R", "A", and "E". He was really into it.

Cleaned out the kids outdoor toy chest with the hose, then got some good hammock time with the last few chapters of Tinker Tailor. Sun set. 50 degrees, a perfect end,

this guy is like you omg! check out those doses of motivation :D

you're cooler than this dude though because you're using your "behind the science" brain to thoughtfully raise two kids instead of flashing some fancy phd around lol

    1. I spelled thoughtfully wrong at first, so I had to delete my original post and write it again more thoughtfully lol

It still shows that I deleted my first comment though, sitting there haunting me because the delete button really means announcement that I made a mistake the first time.
